MSR Technology Group is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our client’s three-member team, providing exceptional customer network support. Candidates must have experience designing networks and be proficient with Palo Alto / Fortinet and security, and Layer 2/3 routing/switching and exposure to Azure is highly preferred.

Role Overview:

Responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining networks for professional and managed services customers. This hands-on role involves critical duties during crisis situations and extended hours of work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and optimize existing hardware, software, and networking systems.
  • Design and implement scalable networks.
  • Configure and install network devices (Layer 2/3 switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi).
  • Test and troubleshoot network systems, resolving technical issues.
  • Perform speed and security tests.
  • Apply network security upgrades.
  • Upgrade or replace hardware and software as needed.
  • Create and present networking reports.
  • Train NOC engineers and end users.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of networking experience
  • At least 2 years of experience with Palo Alto or Fortinet.
  • Experience with multi-vendor switching environments (Ruckus, Mellanox, Juniper).
  • Certifications: PCNSE, Fortinet NSE4, CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
  • Microsoft Azure network experience is a plus.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to manage complex networking systems.
  • Experience training end users.
  • Excellent problem-solving and documentation skills.
  • Must maintain industry certifications.

Expectations:

  • Available via Slack, email, and phone for timely support.
  • Report to headquarters (if local) at least 3 days a week.
  • Perform after-hours duties on rotation.
  • Assist team with customer issues and knowledge sharing.
  • Interact with service delivery team and customers.
  • Manage workload with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented and process-driven.
